Pacific Coolabah Credit Alpha
Focus on “alpha” generation in liquid, high-grade credit
Pacific Coolabah Credit Alpha
The Pacific Coolabah Credit Alpha Fund aims to achieve returns in excess of cash +150bps, primarily through investment in global investment-grade corporate debt securities and sovereign bonds, with selective use of derivatives. Managed by Pacific Asset Management and sub-advised by Coolabah, the strategy combines proprietary quantitative research, deep fundamental credit analysis, and active trading expertise to identify opportunities that traditional fixed-income managers often overlook.
While many fixed-income strategies rely on increasing exposure to credit risk, duration risk, or illiquidity risk in pursuit of higher returns, the Pacific Coolabah Global Active Credit Fund takes a fundamentally different approach. The objective is not simply to earn market beta, but to actively generate alpha through the identification and exploitation of pricing inefficiencies across global credit markets. By focusing on liquid, high-quality securities and maintaining a highly active investment process, the Fund seeks to deliver returns in excess of its benchmark while preserving a disciplined approach to risk management.
